Eden Reforestation Projects

Bazookah plants a tree for every shirt sold. In Madagascar. And we are very serious about that.

The certified projects that we financially support are carried out by Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden): an American non-profit organization dedicated to reforestation worldwide. And with success: since its foundation in 2005, Eden has planted 977 million(!) trees in various projects in collaboration with local communities in Mozambique, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines, Haiti, Central America and Brazil, among others.

Since 2007, Eden has also been committed to restoring mangrove forests in Madagascar, where no less than 90% of the primary forests have disappeared as a result of human activities.

Why restore mangrove forests?

According to the World Wildlife Fund ( source WWF ), Mangroves can store up to 5 times more carbon than tropical forests on land. Each planted mangrove tree removes more than 308 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere over a 25-year growth period. This allows us to more than compensate for the CO2 released when making your shirt - and a little bit extra.
