Wear and Care

Wear & Care

Shirts from Bazookah are made from organic cotton and meet the highest standards. Sustainability is also our starting point within the production process. You can read how we do this under the heading 'Sustainability' on our site. What you can do yourself to enjoy your beautiful shirt to the fullest is explained below.

Wear

We understand better than anyone that you would prefer to wear your shirt 7 days a week. But your shirt also needs a rest now and then. In fact, if you can let your shirt air out at night at the end of the day, you don't have to wash it as often. And washing a little less often does not save
only energy but also your shirt. Because garments wear out in the washing machine – even our shirts.

Care

Our shirts are designed with the love and attention they deserve and are built to last. Do you really want to be able to enjoy your shirt for a long time? Then always wash your shirt according to the instructions on the washing label that we have printed on the inside of the shirt. Are washing labels like hieroglyphics to you? Just for you we have a few simple instructions that even a child can use to do the laundry!

Natural vinegar

Add a wash ball with white natural vinegar (not cleaning vinegar) to every wash and turn it with your laundry. Natural vinegar in the washing machine has a multiple effect: it descales the water and makes it less hard. This means you need less detergent. It is also good for the washing machine itself, because limescale can shorten the life of your washing machine. Natural white vinegar neutralizes, has antibacterial properties
effect and also makes clothes softer. We advise you to wash your shirt (and the rest of your laundry) with white vinegar in combination with a dash of a mild detergent. If you also put a little vinegar in the softener tray, fabric softener itself is no longer necessary. This way you can get your laundry completely clean again without aggressive products in a smart way.

Wash your shirt at a low temperature.

Nothing is as bad as a nice shirt that has shrunk during a wash! The only one who might be happy about that is your little brother who fits it now. Moreover, it is often even unnecessary to wash at higher temperatures, because modern detergents do their job excellently at 30 degrees. That makes us happy, because clean laundry at a low temperature also means less energy consumption. We therefore advise you to wash your shirt at a low temperature as much as possible. Most laundry is fresh and clean after a wash at 30 degrees, you can also clean more soiled laundry with a washing program at 40 degrees. With temperatures above 40 degrees, you run the risk of your shirt shrinking. We therefore advise against this.

Use a mild soap. Or soap. A little.

The organic cotton we use for our shirts is made with respect for nature and the people who helped us in the production process. We have also taken sustainability as a starting point in the coloring and printing. Our shirts are made to last. A choice for a gentle detergent contributes to the life of your shirt. Aggressive chemical cleaning agents can affect the colors and we do not recommend using them for that reason.

Preferably use a mild soap. Or a seep – from the boys and girls of Seepje. Only mineral and vegetable ingredients are used for Seepje detergents, so no animal ones. They are also at least 99.81% natural. And although we think this is quite a bit, she continues to look for ways to make their detergent 100% natural.

To dry

Shirts from Bazookah are fabric washed and will not shrink when following the washing instructions above. We do not recommend using a tumble dryer, especially at higher temperatures. Cotton fibers can become weakened over time. So if you can, let it get some fresh air. We like that ourselves.
